Value for money was great, with large rooms and comfortable mattresses on the floor. The location was convenient, not too far from the train station and offered great views of Mt. Fuji. The staff, especially the lovely lady owner, were friendly and accommodating.
The breakfast menu could have been more diverse or had more options.

I recently stayed at Fujiyoshida Hostel for about a week while exploring the Kawaguchiko area. The location was perfect, with easy access to multiple train stations for convenient travel. The traditional Japanese house setting was a unique and enjoyable experience, with tatami floors and a cozy atmosphere. The host was friendly, spoke basic English, and provided helpful recommendations. I appreciated the provision of coffee and tea, as well as the use of a microwave. it was a quiet and comfortable stay, and I would definitely consider returning if I visit Fuji again.
I would be happy to recommend this hotel.

This traditional Japanese hostel is the perfect base for exploring Mount Fuji. the comfy futon beds provide a restful night's sleep after a long hike, and the ofuro hot bath is a luxurious way to relax and rejuvenate. the helpful owner adds a personal touch, ensuring a pleasant stay. Located near a sushi restaurant and a short walk from the train station, it offers convenience and authentic Japanese experiences.
The hostel could benefit from some minor updates, such as fresh paint and furniture adjustments.

The rooms at Fujiyoshida Youth Hostel are seriously cozy! I felt like I was snuggled up in a warm mountain cabin. Plus, having air conditioning is a total win, especially during hot summer nights. The TV in the room was a nice touch too, perfect for chilling out.
Personally, I wasn't a fan of the shared bathroom situation. But hey, that's just me.
